As an example, one of our clients needed to know how many "active" clients there were for a given agreement. The issue came with the definition of "active." The original query looked for a single field in the database that were agreements "active." However, we quickly discovered that, by checking other data using profiling, inconsistencies in the counts. By capturing the terminology differences, we were able to discover that multiple fields of data were required to be certain that all of the "active" agreements were captured.
