Bid & Proposal Specialist
Position Overview
The successful candidate will assist with proposal development efforts for small and large proposals and work with external and internal proposal resources. The Proposal Specialist must demonstrate multiple skills and responsibilities in a dynamic environment, while working on multiple projects, including research of potential business opportunities through the Internet.
Required Skills
Candidates must have the ability to work independently, function effectively as a member of a team, and adhere to strict deadlines. Candidates must have the proven ability as a technical editor and must be familiar with using standard style manuals (Chicago, AP). Proficiency in creating graphics to illustrate technical concepts is desirable. Candidates must have the ability to translate technical information into documents for non-technical personnel. Candidates should also have an understanding of computer software development and other specialty areas of information technology. Excellent editing, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills are required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are needed. The incumbent will be innovative in solving problems and finding information. Applicants must have the ability to work on short-term assignments with tight deadlines while managing multiple tasks and projects.
Required Degree/Experience
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field and at least 3-5 years of experience in providing technical writing support for contract deliverables and Government proposals. Extensive experience is required developing, researching and authoring management, staffing, quality control, and past performance sections of a proposal.
Required Citizenship: U.S Citizen with with the ability to obtain a security clearance.Required Location: Charleston, SC
